With reference to your telegram of the 24th September, 1921, and previous correspondence, I have the honour to submit for the signification of His Majesty's pleasure the following Ordinance intituled:-
An Ordinance to extend for a further period the powers
granted by the Mercantile Bank Note Issue Ordinance, 1911, to the Mercantile Bank of India, Limited, to make, issue, re-issue and circulate notes in the Colony. No.26 of 1921.
2. The report of the Attorney-General enclosed explains the object in passing the Ordinance.
3. I forward a certificate under my hand as required by Article LVII of the Royal Instructions dated the 14th February, 1917.
